Best Machine Innovation
This category is open to innovative vending machines and vending machine concepts. This could encompass food machines, beverage machines, non-food vending machines, etc.

Best Payment System
This category is open to any payment technology that is currently active in the vending sector. This could be card, contactless, phone, cash and systems that encompass more than one of these payment methods.

Best Beverage Brand
This category is open to any hot or cold beverage brand that is currently active in the vending sector.

Best Snack/Confectionary Product
This category is open to any snack or confectionery product that that is currently active in the vending sector.

Best New Product (Audience choice award – voted for on the night)
This category is open to any product that that is currently available from a vending machine.

Best Ancillary Product or Service
This category is open to any ancillary product or service to the vending industry. This could include management software; disposable cups; stirrers; machine parts; machine parts replacement; ingredients; logistics; marketing; disposables, etc.

NEW Best Supplier Website
This category is open to any supplier that is supporting the vending industry by increasing the visibility of its service provision online, in addition to supporting its operators with fast and efficient online services.

Operator Categories

Regional Operator of the Year
This category is open to companies operating on a local or regional level. Judges will consider the following:  any new technologies an operator has introduced to the benefit of the customer and overall business; the learning and development opportunities they provide; staff benefits and initiatives; evidence of great  customer service and any  measures that have been put in place to deal with business and/or industry challenges. Judges will also be looking at how the operator is working with the consumer to develop their range, for example with low calorie/sugar free/ high in protein options and how sustainable they are as an organisation. They will also want to see that there is a preventative maintenance programme in place, with evidence of how it will be developed for the future.

National Operator of the Year
This category is open to companies operating on a national level. Judges will consider the following:  any new technologies an operator has introduced to the benefit of the customer and overall business; the learning and development opportunities they provide; staff benefits and initiatives; evidence of great  customer service and any  measures that have been put in place to deal with business and/or industry challenges. . Area Manager of the Year
This award is open to an individuals tasked with ensuring consistently high standards across a designated area. Predominately a customer service award, judges will consider: what it is that makes this person stand out from the rest; details of any instances where they have dealt with a difficult situation or problem and/or gone above and beyond the expectations of the customer.

Best Operator
This category is for vending operators of any size currently doing business in the UK. . Judges will consider the following:  any new technologies an operator has introduced to the benefit of the customer and overall business; the learning and development opportunities they provide; staff benefits and initiatives; evidence of great  customer service and any  measures that have been put in place to deal with business and/or industry challenges. Judges will also be looking at how the operator is working with the consumer to develop their range, for example with low calorie/sugar free/ high in protein options and how sustainable they are as an organisation. They will also want to see that there is a preventative maintenance programme in place, with evidence of how it will be developed for the future.

Best Service Engineer
This category is for service engineers at vending operating companies currently doing business in the UK. It is aimed at recognising those individuals on the frontline; working face-to-face with end-users, managing expectations and dealing with the realities of equipment in use.

Best Route Operator
This category is for route operators at vending operating companies currently doing business in the UK.

Best Customer Service – Operator
This category is for any INDIVIDUAL currently working in a customer-facing role at a vending operating company that is doing business in the UK.

The Customer Service Award is designed for those people on the ground, who deal with customers on site or on the telephone. It was aimed at those individuals who are perceived by customers as the ‘go-to’ person who will assist them when they need it most.

This category is open to innovative operators who use the online experience to improve the customer experience and increase sales.

This special award will recognise an individual who has served the vending industry for more than 20 years and played a significant role in its success.

Nominees must meet the following criteria in order to be bestowed with this prestigious Award:

  • A clear commitment to working in the vending industry as a career.
  • Consistent application of good practice
  • Examples of going the ‘extra mile’
  • Excellence as a representative of the vending industry to the customer and wider business community.
  • Active membership of professional bodies and initiatives (associations, professional institutions, charities, etc).
  • High level of respect amongst colleagues and peers.
